Terpenes are the organic compounds that create the unique aroma of each individual cannabis plant. They provide therapeutic benefits for pain relief and have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.  Terpenes help with depression, anxiety, insomnia, and stress, and may also regulate cannabinoid absorption.

Flavonoids are compounds in plants which give plants their pigmentation, filter out UV rays, attract pollinators, and prevent plant diseases. There are about 20 flavonoids in cannabis.  Flavonoids have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-allergic properties. Flavonoids may also improve the bioavailability of other active compounds, influence the way that they are transported within the body, alter how they bind with receptors and they may also be involved in the metabolism of CBD and THC.  In addition, flavonoids may be a key player in the ‘entourage effect’ which is the way that different compounds work synergistically together to provide a more holistic effect.
Phytocannabinoids are the naturally occurring cannabinoids that are found in the hemp plant. All of these compounds, including CBD and THC, are called cannabinoids, or Phytocannabinoids to be exact.

Where Do A.LEAF’S Ingredients Come From And How Do We Conduct Testing?
A.LEAF products come from hemp that has utilized a unique extraction process yielding the highest quality CBD with less than the typical amount of THC of competitor brands.  A.LEAF only uses hemp and natural oils that are grown in the USA. All products undergo a rigorous testing process before and after manufacture. Finally, a third party testing lab issues a Certificate of Analysis (COA) on every batch before it is shipped to the customer.

A COA is available for all A.LEAF products on every product page and can be found below.
